The Student (EDU) Discount app collects and processes customers university email addresses together with verification data (such as verified status) solely for the purpose of determining student eligibility.

Customer data is retrieved and temporarily processed on our secure backend server solely for verification purposes. This may include verifying the email domain or validating student status.

All customer-related data — including university email and verification results — is saved exclusively within the merchant’s Shopify store, specifically via customer Metafields. No customer data is transmitted to or stored on any third-party or external storage systems.

The Student (EDU) Discount app does not collect personal data independently. All data used by the app is provided directly by the customer through the verification form embedded in the merchant’s Shopify storefront.

The app processes this data entirely within the Shopify environment. Any relevant information (such as the university email) is stored only in the merchant’s Shopify store. No personal data is collected or stored by the app or by TroveTools.

The app does not use cookies, local storage, or other tracking technologies on merchant storefronts or customer devices.

This email is compared against a list of approved university domains specified by the merchant. If a match is found, the customer is marked as a verified student within the merchant’s Shopify store.
